Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks requiring skilled to highly skilled trades/mechanical techniques in the areas of plumbing and mechanical operation including, but not limited to: Repairs, replacement and installation of plumbing fixtures, piping, sanitary lines, etc.; Repairs, replacement and installation of HVAC/Mechanical controls valves, (mechanical/electronic), piping, and all related components.
Performs skilled maintenance and/or construction work requiring the application of trade skills, codes, and standard trade practices in the areas of plumbing and mechanical trade.
A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note:Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, electrical HVAC or other trade may substitute for the required experience.)
Experience in performing daily maintenance repairs in commercial type buildings.
Experience or knowledge in plumbing, electrical and air conditioning trades.
Experience or knowledge of and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This incumbent for this position is eligible to be on call.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
