Deferred Maintenance Project Coordinator

Provide mechanical/electrical/as assigned engineering support to assist in the design, analysis and development of documents, drawings, programming, estimating and project management related to University initiatives and the reduction strategies associated with the University's deferred maintenance backlog. Identify technical problems and propose solutions in all areas of facility operations. Coordinate and oversee a variety of facilities-related projects on campus. Supervise contractors, coordinate engineering of projects, evaluate building and facility components/equipment and recommend design changes. Perform engineering studies on existing systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend system changes. Write technical reports. Provide technical assistance for Physical Plant Management team and trades persons. Promote a work place that encourages safety in the shop and in the field. Report to the Assistant Director of Physical Plant and actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and two to four years experience in project management and engineering related disciplines; Valid driver's license or ability to obtain, and driver's check may be required. Knowledge of codes, regulations, standards and practices; Utilization of computer systems used in project management and design; Use of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing, email. Interpretation of specifications and blueprints; Effective verbal and written skills to effectively communicate complex technical data.
