Job Description:


Provides leadership and administrative management to related academic disciplines at assigned Campuses. Supports the growth and expansion of the Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence (MCoE), and implementation of strategic initiatives related to the assigned educational area of focus. Manages the departmental academic schedule. Promotes the visibility of the College's and the programs, fosters creativity, partners with the Foundation Office to expand the College's endowment, and manages the College's human, fiscal, and physical resources.

  • Interacts closely with leaders of the local business communities to develop the necessary relationships to ensure that the College cultivates value in its niche communities
  • Provides leadership and management for the assigned area of focus
  • Collaborates and provides leadership to the Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence
  • Supports the development and implementation of new training programs and employer-led initiatives
  • Leads, directs, and oversees the development, coordination, implementation and enhancement of college-based related programming including strategic growth and retention of participants
  • Ensures that all related programming maintains the standards of the College
  • Connects, synergizes, and leverages the academic plans with all other activities of the College including related College events, corporate events and community events
  • Supervises and manages the performance of assigned staff and functional unit
  • Collaborates with the Associate Deans to ensure that the College is the premier provider of relative talent in the North East Ohio region
  • Ensures that the College is noted as a premier stakeholder for the related industry in the North East Ohio region
  • Ensures the communication of plans, activities and expectations of the assigned area of focus both internally and externally
  • Collaborates with the college-wide leadership team to ensure strategic deployment of use of College programming and strategic use of College resources
  • May be assigned to support college-wide activities as part of executing the College strategic plan
  • Collaborates with management and program leaders in other College areas to develop cross functional programs that meet evolving industry needs and reflect cutting-edge industry practices
  • Collaborates with the Foundation in the cultivation and development of key industry leaders
  • Develops and manages the division's academic schedule, handles student issues, conducts evaluations and revisions as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of five to seven years of related leadership experience in an professional setting or higher education environment
  • Minimum of ten years of related general experience including:
    • Demonstrated experience in a higher education environment
    • Demonstrated executive experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others
    • Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget
    • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have significant, broad implications on the management and operations of a division (or equivalent business area)
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Higher Education leadership theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
  • Possess broad based knowledge of existing and emerging pedagogies and academic delivery systems
  • Possess broad based knowledge of supporting student success
  • Ability to manage and supervise a diverse staff
  • Possess strong management skills
  • Possess a commitment to working with cross-functional teams
  • Possess a commitment to professional development and continuous learning and improvement

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
