Title I and II Program Manager




OIEC enforces the University of Colorado Sexual Misconduct Policy, the University of Colorado Boulder Discrimination and Harassment Policies and Procedures, and the University of Colorado Policy on Conflict of Interest in Cases of Amorous Relationships. OIEC will address all complaints of discrimination and harassment for the CU Boulder campus using the methods described in OIEC's Process and Procedures. The Executive Director of OIEC, on behalf of the entire OIEC team, serves as the campus Title IX Coordinator for CU Boulder.

What your key responsibilities will be:

ADA Title I Employment Program:
  • Primary responsibility for administration of accommodations requests for employees with disabilities (not including FMLA/OJI/Reasonable Employer cases) including engaging in the interactive accommodation process with employees and departments, reviewing and evaluating medical information in accordance with the ADA, determining reasonable accommodations, overseeing implementation of reasonable accommodations, and engaging in follow up as necessary to ensure proper accommodation. Demonstrates appropriate sensitivity when discussing medical issues with employee and maintains confidentiality as necessary.
  • Draft documentation outlining accommodation decisions/manages case records.
  • Handle pregnancy cases falling under ADA.
  • Advise campus departments/supervisors on approaching disability-related issues in employment context and trains on related topics as appropriate.
  • Assist in development and implementation of ADA investigative unit.

ADA Title II Access Program:
  • Represent ADA Compliance Unit and provides guidance while attending Housing Committee meetings and attend additional committee meetings as needs are determined.
  • Provide training and educational forums to members of the campus community.
  • Coordinate interpreting and captioning by: regularly checking interpreting email account (at least twice per day) and responding to requests; arranging interpreting and captioning with agencies.
  • Respond to inquiries to ADA coordinator email address and manages HRI entries related to these inquiries.
  • Manage ADA coordinator items maintained at distribution center; tracks furniture currently in use for accommodations.
  • Assist in development and implementation of ADA investigative unit.

The starting salary for this position is $60,000.

Qualifications

What we require:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience managing disability accommodations, FMLA, or leave programs, or other ADA or disability-related work experience.

What we'd like you to have:
  • One year of Human Resources or other ADA related work experience (such as FHA, investigations, or employee relations) in a multi-building organization and/or a higher education setting is also preferred.

Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
