Duties: The research goal of our laboratory focuses on understanding metabolic alterations across the translational space using systems-level metabolomics methods. This position is responsible for facilitating this research through innovation and use of specialized quantitative analytical tools and metabolomics methods which include HPLC mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy, as well as other basic lab equipment. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of all analytical equipment, application of existing methods, purchasing of lab supplies. The incumbent will be responsible for managing usage of the instruments, and in particular maintenance of state-of-the-art mass spectrometry equipment. The incumbent will also be responsible for planning and carrying out specific experimental procedures and for collecting and analyzing data using multivariate statistical analysis.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in one of the biomedical sciences ,biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, or math and 1 to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Masters degree preferred. Knowledge of structural elucidation techniques for purification and identification of unknown small molecules is an asset.
