Business Technology Application Technician - Journey

Minimum Education/Experience: Associate's Degree in Computer Programming, or Bachelor's degree with some computer related coursework from an appropriately accredited university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional six months experience.

Job Duties: This is a support position for the New Technologies Development Group within Enterprise Information Systems. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining the institutional portal, PiratePort. This position's primary responsibility will be for handling support tickets that are sent to the team. In addition, it would also be responsible for testing, training, quality assurance, and documentation to support the Enterprise Information Systems team. Systems involved will be PiratePort, Banner, Xtender, and other core administrative enterprise systems. The position is responsible for answering help desk tickets needing second tier support, and ensuring timely responses for these issues. The position will also be involved in testing systems which will lead to increased stability for production systems, decrease system downtime, and ensure audit compliance. Training and documentation duties will also be assigned as needed to make sure users are properly trained to take full advantage of the functionality provided and to ensure a constant state of audit readiness.
