Serves as the department's human resources representative and performs related administrative duties.
Assists with leave and/or time entry adjustments in OMNI. Assists with bi-weekly verification of leave and payroll by running and reviewing Cost Center Reports according to the payroll schedule. Provides assistance regarding Time & Labor inquires while effectively communicating with all office staff. Provides training and direction to staff on personnel or payroll procedures. Ensures accurate leave balances by auditing paper timesheets and making adjustments in OMNI as necessary.
Responsible for performing administrative functions as assigned. Answers main telephone line and routes calls appropriately. Serves as the Human Resources Representative for the department, including, FMLA and Worker*s Compensation. Submits ePAFs to terminate employees; submits ePAFs to initiate changes in supervision, salary, or shift changes. Prints Termination Check Lists and completes Department Representative Responsibilities. Provides statistical or other information for the Monthly Report. Maintains a departmental file and keeps statistical data for all Workers Compensation Accident/Injury Reports.
Checks online for open work orders and prints and distributes work orders to appropriate shifts mailbox. May assist administrative staff by performing other related duties, including but not limited to closing out work orders, photocopies, filing invoices or other documents, delivering or collecting correspondence or other documents to offices within MMA. Assists administrative staff with data entry or retrieval of statistical analysis or reports.
High School diploma or equivalency and three years of experience.
(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to three years.)
Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources.
Basic experience with filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook?
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Criminal Background Check
