Student Affairs Admin. Specialist

Incumbent serves as the primary contact point for students and first time inquirers by telephone, email, and in-person for the Student Affairs Office in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Utilizes a variety of resources, expand and improve the department website to better support the goals of the department. Enhance development of web based technologies and integration of various teaching tools offered by UCI. Assists with the quarterly schedule of classes. Coordinates the ordering of textbooks and course materials. Assists with varies financial duties including processing travel and entertainment reimbursements. Manages a broad array of inquiries that include registration and payment policies, course schedule information, and general program requirements. Maintains various student databases. Demonstrated communication skills to interact effectively with a broad range of faculty, staff, students, and international visitors, from a variety of ethnic, social and educational backgrounds, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize a diversified workload with attention to detail with multiple conflicting deadlines in an environment with frequent interruptions and distractions.

Salary: Hourly $21.54
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
