Space Management Coordinator
Initiate, plan, and coordinate activities associated with planning, programming, and budget development, as well as participate in the planning, development and implementation of facility-related initiatives. Develop program statements and space analysis; develop plans for units that represent the program direction, in order to project future space needs; prepare audits and analysis of space; develop plans and recommendations that support the university mission and its units, as well as appropriate utilization of facility resources; participates in the formulation of space policies, space planning guidelines, and metrics. Assessment, development, and coordination of facilities and space initiatives, and alteration and improvement projects; ensure that programmatic requirements are met through project completion. Serve as the liaison between academic and academic support units, Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, and other service providers. Provide space management and technical assistance to user groups. Position reports to the Office of Planning and Budgets, Director of Facilities Planning and Space Management and the Associate Dean for Research for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school with coursework in space management and analysis; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in facilities and space planning and programming, project coordination, and data collection and analysis; experience in spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business, planning, or a related field; knowledge of problem solving techniques and analysis; experience in capital planning and space management; project management, preferably in a university or college environment; strong interpersonal skills (oral and written); customer service orientation, self-starter; ability to pay close attention to detail, follow through on tasks, coordinate multiple tasks, experience with FAMIS or other CAFM applications; knowledge of AutoCAD; extensive experience with Microsoft software products including but not limited to, Outlook, Access, Excel, and Power Point; and ability to listen and develop solutions with a variety of constituencies in an educational institution and business environmentWork Hours
