Building on these accomplishments, Chatham opened in 2014 the world's first fully sustainable campus in higher education, Eden Hall Campus.  Consistently ranked as a best college by U.S. News & World Report in the Regional Universities North category, Chatham consists of the School of Health Sciences; the Falk School of Sustainability & Environment; the School of Arts, Science and Business; and the College for Continuing & Professional Studies.

To help support the work of the University we have an immediate opening for a Director of Advancement Services.  The Director of Advancement Services reports to the Vice President for University Advancement.

The University’s Advancement Service function supports all of the other key functions in Advancement, including Individual Giving, Alumni Relations, and Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations.  The Director of Advancement Services is responsible for database administration, gift processing, reporting, prospect management, and research in support of the alumni and friends engagement and fundraising priorities of Chatham University.  The Advancement Services area is designed to maximize efficiencies in the processing and recording of data and the research and management of prospects.  The Director of Advancement Services will also provide direction for the tracking and reporting of Chatham’s $100 million Campaign.  An understanding of the technical support areas of advancement is required, with background in SQL and Crystal Report writing highly desirable. Previous experience in development and particularly in a higher education setting is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Responsible for ensuring the integrity of database administration, reporting, and biographical records maintenance.  Monitor progress toward annual and campaign fundraising goals disseminating routine reports to staff and volunteers.  Monitor all gift agreements to ensure they are in accordance with Chatham’s gift acceptance policies and IRS rules.   Oversee the preparation of in-depth biographical and financial profiles of prospects for staff and volunteers in preparation for travel and events.  Oversee gift and pledge reconciliation, providing data and documentation needed for annual audit.


Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree/some graduate work preferred.  5-7 years of experience in higher education advancement office.  Excellent SQL and data management skills.  Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and mastery in various donor management systems.
