Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) successful years in rules compliance at a Division I University is required
•Experience with entering and submitting data through NCAA Compliance Assistant software is required
•Master’s degree is preferred

Purpose of Job

The individual will assist with the preparation of the Self-Study report and other written documentation required by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences national accreditation process.

Scope of Responsibilities

Under general direction, this position will assist with the coordination of national accreditation efforts by the Department of Human Sciences. Specifically, the person hired in this position will perform tasks associated with the development of a Self-Study document and other written materials required for the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences national accreditation.

Qualifications

•Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences and a major associated with the field of Family and Consumer Sciences;
•Experience in Family and Consumer Sciences national accreditation process; and
•Held an administrative position in Family and Consumer Sciences at the college or university level.

Essential Job Functions

•Assist the Department of Human Sciences in the writing of the Self-Study report for the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences national accreditation process;
•Organize accreditation data provided by the Department of Human Sciences according to the prescribed plan outlined in the Family and Consumer Sciences accreditation handbook;
•Offer suggestions and recommendations for accreditation compliance and continued data collection;
•Assist with the gathering of information for accreditation reporting purposes, when appropriate;
•Meet with stakeholders, when appropriate, to provide updates and to gain clarity where needed;
•Meet deliverable guidelines on scheduled dates;
•Provide a finished draft of accreditation document;
•Conduct one re-write or edit of Self-Study report;
•Attend and participant in required accreditation meetings as required by Chairperson of the Department of Human Sciences or Dean of the School of Agriculture,
•High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation, ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision;
•Strong spoken and written communication skills;
•Motivation to engage in and manage a wide range of intellectual work; and
•Ability to share responsibilities and rewards with a network team of coworkers, including off-campus clients and Department of Human faculty, staff, and students.

Licensing and Certifications

The candidate is required to possess a terminal degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Sciences, or Human Environmental Sciences; Certified Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS) preferred;

•Establish relations with Family and Consumer Sciences national, regional and state officers; especially those involved with the national accreditation process;
•Attends and participates in the Mississippi Association of Family and Consumer Sciences;

•Strong spoken and written communication skills;

•Demonstrated knowledge of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences national accreditation process;
•In-depth knowledge of Family and Consumer Sciences tenets and concepts with the capability of assessing the inclusion of these tenets and concepts within the college-base curriculum and daily operational practices of the Family and Consumer Sciences unit
•Interpersonal/human relation skills;
•Ability to follow oral and written instructions; and
•Detail oriented
