Sr. Admissions Counselor

Position Description: Serves as a member of the COB student services team, with responsibility for coordinating undergraduate and graduate student recruitment for the Monte Ahuja College of Business Administration in order to meet enrollment goals. Communicates daily and builds relationships with prospective students, parents, high school and community college counselors, and businesses within greater Cleveland. Coordinates selected correspondence, plans and executes on- and off-campus programs, represents the University at college fairs and community events, community colleges, workshops and related events; manages associated travel schedule. Informs prospective students and parents on University and College admissions policies and procedures. Maintains records and prepares and hoc and periodic reports as required. Works a flexible schedule including travel off-campus, evenings and weekends. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two to four years of experience in one or more of the following areas: college or university admissions recruitment; college student activities; college admissions counseling at the high school or college level; territory and prospect management; marketing, sales, or related experience. Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced by application materials. Prior experience in public speaking. PC proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications. Proven history of exercising initiative, decision-making and effective organization of time and tasks; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Motor Vehicle Policy. Ability to travel frequently (car, air, bus, train) and to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field. Master's degree in higher education, business, communications, or closely related field. Experience as an admissions counselor/recruiter. Experience working with diverse student populations, which may include low-income, first generation, geographic regions, ethnic groups, high school and non-traditional students. Experience using social media and networked communications. Experience using customer management relations software.
