Job Description Summary:

Founded in 1987 and located in the heart of Washington, DC, George Washington's Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) is the first and foremost school of applied politics, communications, and advocacy, offering master's degrees in the following disciplines: Legislative Affairs, Political Management, Strategic Public Relations, and Political Communication and Strategic Governance. Housed within GW's College of Professional Studies (CPS), GSPM programs are delivered in flexible formats: face-to-face, online, or a blend of both and provide credentials for the workforce that uphold the University's rigorous standards of academic excellence and respond to the needs of today's professionals. GSPM is seeking Student Services Specialist, Recruitment & Enrollment GSPM. The Student Services Specialist actively contributes to the development of the strategic and tactical marketing and recruitment plan, which is developed collaboratively with the Senior Marketing Associate (the project lead) and the Program Directors. The Student Services Specialist provides important insights and recommendations, based on recruitment data and experience, for achieving the annual enrollment goals. Additional responsibilities include:

Utilizes CRM database to track leads and contacts individuals who have indicated an interest in the assigned programs, encourages them to attend an information briefing or otherwise furthering their interest in the programs. Updates database as necessary.

Advises prospective students using a consultative process.

Coordinates classroom visits or other contacts with Program Directors, students, alumni and faculty for prospective students as appropriate.

Adheres to the GSPM's lead management guidelines and ensure quality and accuracy of all communications (phone, e-mail, other).

Runs reports from CRM tracking source of leads, follow up on leads, etc.

Reviews previous enrollment data and assists in the process of forecasting current term enrollments and enrollment metrics (e.g., conversion).

Runs reports from application system to identify those prospective students whose applications are in-progress (in the pre-submit stage). Monitors application process to ensure effective communication in tandem with application deadlines and encourage timely completion.

Attends and participates in meetings with CPS Marketing and Admissions team to discuss application numbers and pending issues and ensure smooth transitioning of prospects to submitted applicants.

Works in concert with marketing department, sharing feedback on the quality of leads by outreach effort and making plan/program suggestions, as appropriate.

Develops and executes recruitment and enrollment events, including but not limited to, information sessions, college visits, lectures, lunch and learns, etc.

Establishes and maintains recruitment and enrollment organizational partnerships and relationships, including but not limited to, Semester in Washington programs, student leadership clubs, etc.

This position performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in sales/recruitment, marketing, or program management.

Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing software; excellent oral communication skills; strong presentation skills.

Familiarity with CRM/CMS database and application software (preference for Salesforce and Hobson's Connect/ApplyYourself).

Experience in a higher education environment is desired.
