Perform multiple accounting/budgeting support functions, such as compiling and preparing budgetary documents and reports, issuing bills and invoices, calculating and verifying debit and credit amounts, and posting transactions to appropriate accounts and org numbers. Ensure the appropriate filing and maintenance of accounting/budget records. Input data into financial systems and reconcile reports. Prepare or maintain various accounting or budget working papers.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions
Performs routine clerical and accounting operations; responds to routine inquiries. Verifies accounting transactions for completeness and accuracy. Inputs data and information. Helps provide training and support for PCard customers. Routinely audits PCard transactions and maintains log of reviews. Maintains files and documents. Prepares and types reports and financial statements following formats/guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires general education or vocational training. Some knowledge of bookkeeping needed.
Excellent writing skills and verbal communications. Proficiency with Excel. Exceptional customer service skills. Comfortable public speaking. Ability to apply critical thinking skills and logic to different situations.
Ability to keep ledgers and accurately file documents. Computer proficient with word processing and spreadsheet experience and computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, databases, and billing and banking software. Ability to operate 10-key calculator and basic typing skills. Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to accurately file documents. Good mathematical and organizational skills needed. Attention to detail a must. Excellent customer service skills.
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms.
