Position Summary: The Executive Director of Career & Leadership for MBA and Alumni leads the strategy, development, and administration of the career management, leadership development, and employer engagement functions that support the MBA programs and all alumni at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The 2,000+ MBA student population is made up of students in the Full-Time MBA program, Evening MBA, Weekend MBA, Global OneMBA and MBA@UNC online program, and the 36,000+ alumni population includes alumni from the UNC Kenan-Flagler BSBA, MBA, MAC and PhD programs. This position will lead a nearly two dozen-member team that provides high-value programmatic career management and leadership development for the MBA student populations and all School alumni. This position will provide overall strategic direction and financial management for the C&L unit. This position will design and execute the career coaching strategy for MBA students and alumni and will oversee the team of career consultants who provide career coaching across a variety of sectors, industries, and job functions. This position will establish an external employer engagement strategy to ensure students and alumni have high quality opportunities for learning, networking, and engaging in recruiting efforts with a diverse set of employers who are interested in top talent. The Executive Director will leverage all resources to create substantive opportunities in which students and alumni can engage with hiring organizations for both internships and full-time employment opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, directing on-campus and off-campus recruiting processes, career-related networking, executive engagement in career & leadership events, and outcome monitoring for our student populations. The Executive Director will work to build new relationships with employers, expand existing relationships, and continually serve as an ambassador for the School. The Executive Director ensures the delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of career-related programs (e.g., workshops, seminars, online tutorials, recruiting-focused events, engagement with student clubs and organizations, and other services) that reflect the ever-changing interests and needs of our MBA student populations preparing them for employment opportunities in a competitive global job market. The Executive Director will manage, deliver and/or participate in several career management and leadership development-related initiatives and events throughout the year. The Executive Director is responsible for data management and accurate data reporting to the various constituents within and outside the University. The Executive Director will develop a comprehensive survey strategy and feedback mechanisms to better understand and enhance the student and employer experience. This position will collaborate with other programs and units within the business school to find and develop synergies in employer engagement, leadership development, career management, and alumni relations. The Executive Director will also have responsibility for building appropriate connections with faculty teaching in areas related to leadership development and student career paths. The Executive Director will oversee the Executive Coaching Program and collaborate with associated coaches. The Executive Director will lead a sizable team consisting of both EHRA and SHRA employees. This position reports to the Managing Director of MBA Programs and is part of the MBA Leadership team which provides strategic direction for the organization. The Executive Director will work collaboratively in a matrix organization with the Executive Director of MBA Student Engagement, Executive Director of MBA Admissions & Student Recruitment, and Executive Director of MBA Academics & Operations to ensure superior student experiences across all Kenan-Flagler MBA programs.

Education Requirements: A Master's degree and five years of relevant experience is required. An MBA is strongly preferred. All degrees must be from accredited universities.
Qualification and Experience: The successful candidate will have an understanding, personal alignment, and respect for the mission of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Breadth and depth of experience, strong business judgment and decision-making skills, a strong capability of working with data and analytics to guide and validate decision-making, the ability to work and interact in a transparent manner, and the ability to lead and manage are essential to success in this position. Specific experiences and qualifications the Executive Director should possess include: -Previous senior-level career services experience or relevant corporate experience; -Integrating across programs and building organizational structure to deliver an outstanding customer experience; -Financial and/or P&L responsibility; -An appreciation for various program delivery formats, including high-quality online offerings; -Managing relationships with external partners; -Proficiency with technology platforms, with a preference for experience with 12Twenty; -Ability to build rapport and motivate staff and student and alumni volunteers, with attention to both developing strategy and building culture; -Excellent writing skills and superior presentation skills to large groups and in 1:1 settings; -An innovative, creative approach with an openness to new initiatives while honoring the traditions of Kenan-Flagler -A collaborative approach that balances internal oversight and engagement with the external role of representing the school to outside constituents; -Comfort with empowering high-performing staff to reach their potential; -An analytic mindset that utilizes data to inform decision-making; -Diplomatic skills, professionalism, and the highest integrity; and -High energy and enthusiasm
