Job Summary

Skidmore College's Neuroscience Program and Physics Departments seek an Administrative Assistant for a full-time, 11-month position. The Academic Administrative Assistant is a focal point of the department and programs' office and provides front-line reception and service assistance to faculty, students, community members and parents. We are particularly interested in candidates from under-represented backgrounds who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and multi-task. It also requires supervisory skills, excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills; proficiency in using computers and technology—including word processing, spreadsheet, and accounting applications (Microsoft Office); and problem solving, creativity and resourcefulness. Patience, flexibility and a sense of humor are a plus. Also requires the abilities to both take direction and to work independently, as well as to maintain confidentiality.
