Minimum Education Requirements

Candidates must have a doctorate in Community Health, Public Health, Health Promotion, Public Administration, or a closely related discipline. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by August 1st, 2018.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to high-quality classroom instruction, service, and scholarly activity.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

The preferred candidate would have evidence of teaching at the university level; experience teaching courses in topics such as personal health, medical ethics, health behavior, health assessment and evaluation (grant writing), human sexuality, education for substance abuse prevention, environmental health, and consumer health; program leadership in public and community health; understanding of Council on Education for Public Health ( CEPH ) accreditation requirements and experience pursuing accreditation; experience coordinating internships; experience incorporating service-learning projects in the classroom; participation in research or creative scholarly activities; and be a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®).
