Business Systems Analyst

Under the general supervision of the Student Information System (SIS) Technical Manager, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for analyzing and documenting the business and information needs and requirements of the business administrative units supported by Ellucian's Banner SIS and its related systems and components. The incumbent serves as a key liaison between business/functional teams and information technology units, and is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional and technical system design specifications that can be successfully executed by SIS development team. Communicates with clients to identify needs and evaluates alternative business solutions. Develops functional requirements and specifications, makes recommendations for improvements of internal processes, plans and manages work effort to move the project to completion. Develops test plans, and coordinates functional testing. Works with functional offices, UCI Office of Information Technology (OIT), the SIS vendor (Ellucian) and other stakeholders as needed in order to achieve results.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Contract Position. This is a one year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Per the University of California (UC) recruitment policy, because this position has undergone competitive recruitment, this position can be converted to career status any time after hire, as conversion meets criteria set by UC recruitment policy and the needs of the Office of Information Technology department.
