Senior Project Manager

Job description

University of California, Irvine

Senior Project Manager

The University of California, Irvine is embarking on a major effort to replace its legacy Student Information Systems (SIS) made up of a collection of disparate homegrown systems, which lack data integration and significantly limit its ability to serve the ever-changing needs of the campus. The new SIS implements an ERP-style solution with functional modules on a central database with integrated data and real-time updates. The immediate goals of this project include improving student, faculty, and staff experience while reducing risks inherent to the current systems. Under the direction of the SIS Project Director, the Senior Project Manager provides overall support for the successful completion of the SIS project.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the plan, schedule, scope, status, and issue management of the development and implementation of assigned projects and serves as a single point of contact for large-scale, highly technical projects. As the Senior Project Manager, the incumbent will be accountable for capturing, compiling, tracking, managing, documenting, communicating and escalating status, issues, and risks.

In collaboration with the System Implementer (SI) project managers, the Senior Project Manager also participates in validating and maintaining the Master Project Schedule, ensuring that all key project elements as defined by the Statement of Work (schedule, milestones, resource requirements, task assignments, progress tracking, and status reporting) are accurate and accounted.
