Clinical Nurse II

Under the supervision of the Clinic Nurse manager/Supervisor, the nurse will perform multiple roles for the UCI Student health Center including: Employs triage techniques to identify existing or potential health problems (physiological and psychological) and formulate a plan of care:
Provides direct patient care utilizing nursing skills, standing orders, standardized procedures and protocol.
Provides nursing & patient care based on electronic messages & requests for services based on guidelines and standing orders.
Serves as a resource for various university departments who are in need of nursing and health related education.
Performing other clinical services which are within the scope of RN practice which may include evening and weekend hours.
Oversees the flow of patients in the assigned pod/panel and takes appropriate action to ensure proper distribution among health care providers.
Provides clinical oversight to LVN and unlicensed assistive personnel within the pod/panel
Provides direct patient care in nurse and travel clinics by utilizing nursing skills, standing orders, standardized procedures and protocols.
Performs tasks associated with the implementation of the Immunization and TB mandate of the university and needs associated with it.
Provides nursing & patient care based on electronic messages & requests for services based on guidelines and standing orders.
As needed, participate in planning and implementation of immunization, nurse & travel clinics.

Salary: Hourly $43.46 - $50.91
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
Although this position s schedule is M-F and during traditional work hours, weekends or non-traditional work hours may be required for special projects or busy times of the year, or when strict deadlines must be met. In the case of extended hours, this position may be required to work those hours.
Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of a Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan background check, verification and continued monitoring of licensure as it applies to the position, and successful completion of our background review or credentialing process, as appropriate to the position.
The employee must comply with OSHA, CA/OSHA, and CDC recommendations and requirements regarding vaccination and testing of healthcare employees. This includes, but may not be limited to; current hepatitis B immunizations, annual flu vaccinations, and annual tuberculosis screening. At the discretion of Student Health Center, the employee may be offered an option to sign a declination acknowledgement in lieu of receiving an annual flu vaccination.
Per the UC Ethics Briefing, the employee is responsible for reporting any and all potential conflicts of interest to their supervisor in a timely manner.
Final candidate subject to background check.
