Technology Specialist, Center for Arts and Graphic Equipment

The Technology Specialist, Center for Arts and Graphic Equipment supports academic outcomes for School of Design Students by facilitating access to art and design technologies. These technologies include a range of 2D and 3D imaging tools including cameras and photography studio equipment, large format digital printing, 3D printing, and laser cutting. The Technology Specialist shall support staff and faculty by facilitating access to in-class tools such as audio visual equipment, in-class and hallway printers, and computer labs, while helping to maintain classrooms, computer labs, and studios. The Technology Specialist will provide professional service and support for the full range of design programs offered at Mount Ida College's School of Design.

Essential Functions:
1. Provide professional service and support to students staff, and faculty.
2. Facilitate check out of equipment and technology to students, faculty, and staff.
3. Help maintain equipment by trouble shooting problems, facilitating repairs, and conducting inventories.
4. Trouble shoot student and faculty technology issues in a proactive manner.
5. Produce professional quality ink-jet prints, 3D prints, dry mounts, and laser cuttings.
6. Maintain and update computer labs and design studios by implementing strategic technology initiatives.
7. Collaborate with Technology Services to assure students staff and faculty have access to network resources.
8. Maintain regular open hours.
9. Other tasks as assigned.
10. Provide excellent customer service.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience, in an art and design related field - including but not limited to Animation, Architecture, Digital Media, Game Art, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Interior Design, Photography.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:The Center for Arts and Graphic Equipment looks to hire a Technology Specialist who is knowledgeable about Art and Design imaging and production technologies.
The ideal candidate should have:
1. Background in: Animation, Architecture, Digital Arts & Media, Game Art, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Interior Design, Photography.
2. Strong background in Mac and PC computing.
3. Familiarity with photography studio equipment, digital ink-jet printing, and 3D imaging (a plus).
4. Dedication to continuously expanding their technology knowledge and design skill base.
5. The ability to work with faculty and students across academic programs to provide excellent service and support.
6. Prompt, responsive, flexible, and reliable demeanor.
7. The ability to work independently, and troubleshoot problems with minimal supervision.
8. Strong ability to communicate and collaborate within a diverse academic community.
9. Track record of being a reliable self- starter, professional in their relationships, and processing excellent customer service skills.
