Job Description Summary:

It is the academic mission of the George Washington University's School of Business (GWSB) to be a preeminent business school recognized for scholarly research, teaching excellence, innovative curricula and focused on the responsible management of organizations in the global environment. In support of this mission, GWSB Graduate Admissions and Recruitment is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as Director of MBA Admissions.

The Director of MBA Admissions reports to the Executive Director of Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions. This individual is responsible for supervising and leading a team of graduate admissions professionals.

This individual will be a key strategic leader in Recruitment and Admissions, with broad responsibility and accountability for recruitment and admission for all GWSB MBA programs: Global MBA, Professional MBA (Accelerated), Professional MBA (Flexible), Online MBA and the Health Care MBA.

Key responsibilities include:

Works closely with the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and the Executive Director of Marketing, Admissions, and Recruitment to set enrollment targets, and develop and implement strategies, policies, and process to achieve the enrollment targets.

Develops strategies and processes for improving the quality and size of the applicant pool for MBA programs, including both domestic and international applicants.

Work closely with the operations team to develop and implement specific processes for the timely processing of applications.

Develops and implements strategies and processes for the entire application life cycle from interest through enrollment, including nurturing leads and admitted applicants, to increase yields.

Serves as MBA Admissions liaison to facilitate collaboration with other GWSB departments (Career services, Development and Alumni Relations, and Global and Experiential Education.)

Sets standards to achieve a high performing team through established performance goals and opportunities for professional development and growth of staff

Facilitates continuous improvement of recruitment and admissions processes, informed by internal and external information derived from trends and best practices in the profession.

Creates meaningful dashboards and reports to keep all stakeholders informed of progress in recruitment and admissions.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 8 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 6 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Experience in admissions in business schools at the graduate level highly preferred
Experience marketing academic programs with ability to use persuasive sales/marketing techniques

Ability to build and manage a team
Ability to work effectively under pressure, ambiguity, and conflicting goals.
Enjoy working in collegial setting as part of a strong team as well as independently to achieve program goals and objectives
Able to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, facilitate decision making and conflict resolution, maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty and vendors with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
