Job Summary

The Part-Time Non-Credit Instructor teaches Culinary Skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and distributes course outline / syllabi to students
  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections relating to culinary subject matter
  • Maintains accurate attendance records
  • Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
  • Develops recipes, menus and curriculum
  • Complies with department and College policies and procedures
  • Works with Culinarium Director to establish a food budget for each class; remains within this budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include academic and/or professional expertise in the Culinary Field(s)
  • State Certification where applicable
  • Prior experience teaching adult learners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekend assignments
