Job Summary
The Part-Time TRAMCON Continuing Education Instructor teaches manufactured construction courses with a prescribed curriculum to adults.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares and distributes course outline/syllabi to students
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections that lead to the NCCER Core Certificate and MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certificate
- Develops and follows NCCER and MSSC curriculum using specified materials and techniques
- Maintains accurate attendance records
- Works with Lab and Facilities Manager to coordinate instruction of students in different campuses
- Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
- Participates in textbook and technology committees
- Complies with department and College policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience working in construction and/or manufacturing
- Certificate of OSHA 10-hour General Industry Training, to include Basic First Aid
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Prior experience teaching adult learners
- Experience in one or more building trade and/or manufacturing
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and milling equipment
- Ability to operate manuals and safety procedures for all of the equipment and tools in the lab
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
