IT SR PROJECT LEADER
Duties: A unique opportunity exists on the Information Systems and Computing HireIT team, working directly with and in support of the leadership of the University of Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Director of HireIT, the Sr. IT Project Leader will provide strategic planning, implementation, and support of IT technologies while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and quality of services. This position will: provide IT services and support to high-profile University clients with diverse needs and priorities; ensure the appropriate resources are available and put in use to accomplish the goals of the client; develop a deep understanding of the organization's business processes; evaluate and recommend solutions to meet client needs; proactively forecast client needs, diagnose and resolve technical issues; recommend hardware, software, network, security and cloud-based services; lead the end user support effort provided by HireIT to this client, as well as provide direct desk-side support for individuals within the offices of the President and Provost; keep clients apprised of Penn computing policies, standards, and recommended practices, and provide guidance in their adoption; actively participate in the IT community at Penn, collaborating with peers in schools and centers, to identify opportunities to partner and leverage resources for shared solutions to benefit the client and the University; maintain expert knowledge of Penn's supported information systems and services; evaluate and test technologies to assess their ability to meet client needs and to ensure compatibility within Penn's environment; track industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in industry and at other institutions to advise on strategic directions for IT services.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of related experience, preferably in a higher education setting and/or working with executive-level leadership, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Intellectually curious, with a demonstrated professional demeanor and strong verbal and written communication, presentation, project management, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated commitment and passion for delivering exemplary client service. Demonstrated ability to engage with high-profile clients with diverse needs and priorities. Solid technical foundation with specific experience developing creative solutions for and resolving technical problems. Proven history of building and cultivating strong business relationships. Ability to, appropriately, tailor the message to the audience, especially in terms of relaying technical concepts to audiences of varying technical levels.
