This is an advanced level medical assistant position at University Health Services, UW-Madison. The Medical Assistant 2 (MA2) will be responsible for the direct and indirect support and assistance of clinical providers in the Community Health (CH) Clinic.
The Community Health (CH) Clinic provides specialty health services for the student population at UW-Madison. The UW student population includes a large multicultural group of individuals so the MA2 must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and advanced communication skills. The MA2 must possess knowledge of technical care services including immunization administration, TB administration, respiratory fit testing, and supply ordering.
The MA2 responsibilities include, but are not limited to: rooming patients, cleaning patient care areas, providing clerical support, stocking, and communicating effectively with patients, team members, and customers both within and outside of UHS. The MA2 also serves as trainer to the student medical assistants in the Community Health Clinic. This position performs under the limited supervision of professional medical/nursing staff and reports to the 6th floor Nurse Manager.
normal hours are 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. Mon-Fri. Hours may vary between 8:00 and 5:30 on occasion
