Degree and Area of Specialization:
Graduate (masters) degree in nursing is required.
Doctoral degree (Doctor of Nursing Practice, PhD, or other doctoral degree) is strongly preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
* One or more years of experience in teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing, and
* Three or more years of professional experience as a registered nurse (RN), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
Successful candidates will demonstrate substantial experience as a professional nurse and/or an APRN.
Individuals with experience in acute medical/surgical care of hospitalized patients are encouraged to apply.
Individuals with certification as advanced practice registered nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or as Nurse Educators are highly encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interest in and commitment to the teaching mission of the School. Experience with active learning, concept-based teaching, simulation, and clinical education is highly desirable.
License or certificate:
RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin is required.
Position Summary:
Clinical faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing are responsible for undergraduate and graduate instruction and evaluation of student learning in the classroom, in simulated care environments, and through experiential learning in acute care and community health settings. Clinical faculty collaborate with colleagues in course and curriculum development, improvement, and evaluation. Clinical faculty contribute to School of Nursing and University of Wisconsin-Madison goals for diversity and inclusive excellence.
