Job description

The Web Development Coordinator will provide oversight for website development and maintenance, implementing accessible design elements and fulfilling usability requirements. Essential competencies include deploying, configuring and managing a Wordpress CMS and associated technologies. Preferred experience also in Drupal CMS and the Adobe Creative Suite. Customer orientation and excellent written and oral communication a must as faculty and administration needs are fulfilled.
The Web Development Coordinator will possess experience in website design and a solid understanding of development and quality assurance; must possess problem-solving skills and have ability to multitask; be able to follow software development processes; prepare detailed project documentation; aptitude for programming and learning new technologies; Project management; written/oral communications; Strong understanding of Wordpress including PHP 5 & 7, HTML 5.0, CSS and familiarity with JavaScript, JSON and Drupal CMS; SEO; WordPress and Google Analytics; SQL programming experience (Microsoft SQL Server / MySQL); familiarity with Excel/Access database; best security practices
The ideal candidate will provide website development, maintenance and assist in conceptualization and implementation of design elements and determine that website meets usability requirements. Must be comfortable with developing new applications from the concept phase onward, as well as taking complex and challenging existing systems and quickly develop expertise in maintaining/enhancing them. Website developer would be required to use a variety of technical and communication skills to publish various applications, such as interactive forms and directories, ensure compatibility with various platforms as well as ease of navigation and monitor and update current website.
Responsibilities will include page layouts, formatting content, quality assurance testing, security, development of new content and functionality using the WordPress CMS, meeting and communicating effectively with College faculty, staff and students to gather information and discuss project requirements and/or project progress, and responsible for staying current with and following UK policies related to web publishing.

Physical Requirements

May require handling of average weight objects up to 25 pounds, or standing/walking for long periods of time and performing repetitive motion tasks.


8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday
Occasional evenings and weekends.


Microsoft SQL Server / MySQL; Systems analysis and design; Current web development technologies; configuring and managing a Drupal CMS; DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML,SOAP, DOM, and AJAX.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years of related experience; Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
