Learning, Organizational Development and Talent Specialist

General Summary The Learning and Organizational/Talent Consultant oversees and coordinates university-wide efforts to ensure that Talent Management initiatives are developed, deployed and aligned in support of Eastern Michigan University's strategic initiatives. This position supports full life cycle recruitment in sourcing the best talent for the University as well as administering effective programs for retention, promotion and strategic staffing. This position will also supports the strategies for performance management and professional development.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system to develop employees' knowledge, skills and behaviors.

Design, develop, implement and facilitate Performance and Organizational Development programs that result in workforce retention, promotion and strategic staffing.

Through collaboration with internal Subject Matter Experts, create and maintain e-learning courses utilizing Articulate e-learning Studio and other online learning technologies.

Provide support for the design, development and rollout of a variety of compliance courses – specifically the University's Diversity and Inclusion initiative.

Liaise with HR partners and hiring managers to develop effective sourcing, recruitment and employment practices that result in client satisfaction.

Develop effective relationships within the university in order to influence, impact and continuously evolve the recruiting process and hiring.

Facilitate key processes in the full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.).

Participate in talent acquisition outreach efforts to advance the University's brand throughout diverse markets and professional communities to promote EMU as a prime employment choice.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge and skills in critical thinking/problem solving, data analysis, written and interpersonal business communications and basic principles of business organization and administration, acquired through the completion of a Bachelor degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resource Management/OD, or related behavioral science field is required. Master's degree preferred.

A minimum of two years demonstrated experience in either Learning and Organizational Development or Talent Management is required. Experience in both areas is highly preferred.

Strong technical aptitude in MS Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.

Knowledge in Performance Analysis, Cause Analysis, Intervention Selection and Design, Intervention Implementation, Change Management, Evaluation and Employment is preferred.

Experience with the administration of performance management systems, specifically in the areas of performance evaluations, e-learning and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.

Experience working in a highly unionized environment is preferred.

Experience with NeoGov applicant tracking system, Ellucian Banner HR, or similar, comprehensive online system is preferred.
