Position Summary:
The Department of Nursing and Health Professions at Utah State University (USU) seeks a Professional Practice Assistant Professor of Nursing at the USU Eastern, Blanding Campus. This is a non-tenure track, full-time, nine-month benefited position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2018.

This position fills the role of Instructor within the USU Nursing Program. The successful candidate will work with faculty to teach undergraduate lectures, clinicals, and labs in the nursing program. Responsibilities may include coordination of clinics, curriculum development, teaching, professional engagement, and service. Courses are taught in person at the USU Eastern Blanding Campus.

Dept/College Highlights:
Utah State University Eastern Blanding Campus is located in the Four Corners region in southeastern Utah. This is the heart of the Colorado Plateau with the textbook geology that created the breathtaking canyons and majestic mountains of Canyon Country. Four distinct cultures, Ute, Navajo, European pioneer and Spanish have left their history in Blanding, which sits on White Mesa near Blue Mountain. As part of the Utah State University land grant mission, the Blanding campus provides vital educational and health care training role in Southeastern Utah and surrounding states, with approximately 60% of the student body being Native American.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Record of excellent teaching
  • Ability to promote a positive and collaborative environment
  • Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or eligible for licensure in the state
  • Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree with a graduate degree in nursing
  • Three years' experience in health care
  • Minimum of three years of higher education experience
