I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The George Washington University's Engineering Management and Systems Engineering (EMSE) programs are some of the largest and longest-running in the United States. They are a proud and ongoing part of the university's 130-year history of innovation in engineering.

The EMSE off-campus programs are recognized internationally as providing invaluable, relevant knowledge in the areas employers demand most, which helps create engineers who can lead effectively and think broadly about any challenge they face.
Reporting to the Director of EMSE Online and Off-Campus Programs office who also serves as the Director of SEAS Off-Campus and Professional Programs office, the Senior Administrative Assistant will assist with managing online and off-campus programs by supporting students enrolled in and faculty employed at off-campus sites and online.

Responsibilities Include:
Assists with managing student tuition billing; which includes working with Student Accounts to ensure that fees are removed appropriately; tracking tuition billing tracking for each semester based on class due dates & report; and communicating billing reminders and final suspension emails

Provides administrative and logistical support to the Graduate Education Center in Arlington (CEGA); which includes but is not limited to, maintaining GECA classroom reservations and calendar; monitoring and communicating GECA cyclical schedule; and scheduling and coordinating information sessions and advising sessions

Orders and maintains inventory related to the procurement of textbooks and e-books.

Performs general office duties such as maintaining student files and ordering office supplies, and responding to students, guest and faculty inquiries via email and in person.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

-Administrative experience, preferably in academia.
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Proficiency with a personal computer and MS Office Suites.
