Assistant Director of Facilities for Dining Services
Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Facilities for Dining Services in the Division of Student Affairs. Dining Services manages twelve vendors, thirty-six concepts in fifteen different buildings (approximately 56,000 sq. ft.) while also managing the vending machines throughout the campus. Serving as an integral member of Dining Services and Housing Services teams, the Assistant Director of Facilities is responsible for the direct oversight of all dining facilities and custodial services, along with safety and sustainability efforts. The Assistant Director manages Dining Services daily service maintenance operations consisting of multiple sites and facilities. This position will plan and implement replacement projects along with preventative maintenance initiatives for the facilities in Dining Services. The role will manage vendor relationships on a daily basis and respond to vendor inquiries regarding facility concerns. On many occasions the Assistant Director takes a leadership role to approve and provide oversight. Directs the activities and operations of CMU’s Custodial Services to assure buildings are maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Encourages and facilitates sustainability programs initiated by students, faculty and staff with the communities. Monitors and evaluates sustainable programs effectiveness and implements modifications to improve programs. Coordinates work assignments with Dining – Facilities Service Technician for efficient and effective operations outcomes. The Assistant Director is responsible to act as liaison with many campus entities. Ability to cultivate a network across the organization and use relationships developed to improve departmental functioning.
