The University of Virginia School of Nursing has an opening for a general track faculty member, Clinical Instructor, (Clinical Community Health Nurse). We seek applicants who will develop trusting relationships with residents, work to provide care & make positive contributions; serve as a community-builder & healthy lifestyle choices educator and work diligently to build & establish trust with community practice partners & the residents; work directly with students, faculty and other team members to deliver high quality clinical education to UVA School of Nursing students.
Qualifications required: (education): Master's degree
Qualification required: (experience and certification) current State of Virginia Registered Nursing License; experience and/or certification in Community Health and/or Public Health Nursing; experience successfully impacting the health and well-being of vulnerable populations; demonstrated knowledge of community outreach and partnerships; demonstrated excellent communication skills, including the ability to "meet people where they are."
Qualifications required: (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
application and knowledge of clinical nursing teaching and learning principles; non-judgmental approach to building compassionate relationships with low-income people;
commitment to service of diverse and priority populations across the lifespan in a responsive, community-based approach; demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment in both the academic and community settings; excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and patient advocacy skills;
understanding of basic health assessment and relationship-building approaches and best practices for health promotion; demonstrated ability in providing health services informed by the social determinants of health needs of the community in a way that fosters positive health care relationships; understanding of population health disparities and the unique health needs/challenges faced by vulnerable populations; supervisory skills and the ability to build collaborative partnerships with other on-site staff members and with community partners; ability to be flexible, prioritize and organized and be responsive to the health needs of the community.

ability to use computer with Apple and/or Microsoft Office products.
