General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for Temporary Summer Food Service Program Monitors. This position supports the broad range of duties required to facilitate and Monitor the Summer Food Service Program meal sites. It requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment and considerable initiative/ability to work independently. Monitors should possess knowledge and understanding of the SFPS and deliver a high level of customer service to SFSP funders, BFTS staff, SFSP partners and their staff, meal service site directors and their staff, and all other program participants and vendors, and the communities served.

Please note these positions begin May 1st, 2018 and continue through August 15th, 2018, pending grant funding.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Temporary Summer Food Service Program Monitors will:
  • Build ongoing working relationships with all SFSP funders, partners, site staff, and other SFSP colleagues.
  • Facilitate the safe provision of meals in accord with the needs of the sites, contractual, and legal requirements
  • Participate in daily meal delivery preparations and meal delivery:
  • Assure Meal Pattern Requirements are met and that times of service are adhered to.
  • Submit timely and accurate site related records, including Daily Meal Count Records, Daily Delivery Receipts, Daily Record Reviews, Weekly Meal Counts Records, Monthly Meal Count Records, and collection of all site records as required.
  • Prepare and complete all Monitoring Forms, including Pre-Operational Visit Form, First Week Review Form, Monthly Site Review Form, Racial and Ethnic Data Form.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with funders, partners, site staff, SFSP staff, HSDA students, and the community
  • Ability to perform with integrity and sound judgment in matters involving confidentiality, legal and ethical considerations.
  • Ability to lift 30 pound coolers and other meal related boxes
  • Willingness and ability to drive up to 50 miles/day in personal or leased vehicle


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience in human service delivery settings required
  • Human Services Delivery and Administration baccalaureate degree students (current and grads) preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
