Under leadership of the Coordinator the Facilitator will be responsible for teaching basic skills to students with varying academic levels while integrating GED and Accuplacer skills. Help students meet academic goals and prepare them to take and successfully pass the GED and/or the Accuplacer exams. Assist students with personal accounts in preparation to take GED pre-tests.

1. Instruct students on material needed in order to earn his/her GED. Provide GED information on options available to GED students.

2. Help students prepare and study for GED and Accuplacer exams. Assess student's readiness to take exams, and make recommendations to students about when the student is prepared to schedule final GED exams.

3. Teach basic skills encompassing math, science, language arts, and social studies. Tutor students on an individual basis. Develop individual learning plans after student completes GED pre-tests.

4. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into daily instruction and communicate them for all learning activities. Observe and evaluate student's performance.

5. Utilize various curriculum resources and public library resources.

6. Administer pre-test GED assessments to students.

7. Ensure the integrity of all tests and their administration.

8. Assist with the administrative aspects of testing, including but not limited to: data collection, file management, answering phones, and making appointments for students needing accommodations.

9. Comply with all jurisdictional policies and procedures as set forth within the testing guidelines.

10. Manage student behavior according to Aims Community College Policies and Procedures.

11. Read and follow current department policies.

12. Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.

14. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Education, Behavioral Science, Mathematics, Language Arts or related fields.
3. Two (2) years of experience working with targeted populations. Familiarity with transitional programming (employment/college/vocational training).
4. Experience in administering various types of tests, such as academic testing, and/or placement testing.
5. Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks or requests while handling numerous interruptions.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
7. Experience with and technological proficiency in Windows-based PC's, Microsoft Office, and other software products.
8. Excellent customer service skills.
9. Ability to work as a team member.
10. Ability to handle confidential tasks and materials with discretion following FERPA guidelines.
11. Able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings.
12. Experience in workshop facilitation.
13. Experience using differentiation in the classroom.
14. Instructional skills using a variety of technology implementation.
15. Ability to teach a variety of core subjects including science, math, reading comprehension, social studies.
16. Ability to create, carry out, and document progress on individualized learning plans at completion of each student visit.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Education, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, or related fields.
Current Colorado Secondary Teaching License. Bilingual - Spanish/English highly desired.

Work Hours
non-summer schedule, approximately 15 hours per week, summer schedule, approximately 13 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours on occasion, according to program needs
