Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow to perform research related to electrochemical sensing of neurotransmitters as applied to psychiatric illness. The project will be to design and fabricate novel sensors for neurotransmitters and to apply them to disease paradigms. The purpose is to define the fundamental chemistry underlying different disease states in order to diagnose, treat, and cure, and prevent the disease. In addition, the post-doctoral fellow will provide assistance with research reports and papers for publications as well as assist the principle investigator with supervising graduate and undergraduate students. This is a twelve (12) months position with an annual salary of $50,215.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

PhD in Analytical Chemistry

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Candidate must have experience with Analytical Chemistry, Microfluidics and Electrochemical Detection and must be Proficient in Rodent Stereotaxic Surgery.
