ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, RHS MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Duties: Reporting to the Executive Director of Business Services, the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications plans, creates, implements, and directs the brand, marketing, and shares responsibility for the overall communications strategy for Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS). This position will work collaboratively with RHS senior management team to develop strategic goals and plans, maintain high departmental occupancy goals, stimulate meal plan sales, and foster Conference Services sales. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all deliverables visually convey RHS brand identity and ensure alignment with University's brand standards. The Associate Director will determine the best way to visually represent RHS by developing and implementing all marketing channels, including print, digital & social media as well as in presentations, promotional materials & other innovative methods. The incumbent will supervise support staff and, indirectly, student staff.
RHS provides essential 24/7 services for the University of Pennsylvania. Thus, as a member of this dynamic organization, staff may be expected to work outside of their regular shift during peak activity periods (eg. move-in) or when normal campus operations are suspended (eg. inclement weather). To the extent possible, managers will provide timely notice of modified work schedules.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree in Marketing Higher Ed or equivalent preferred; 7 to 10 years of experience preferred. Demonstrated excellent in marketing communication skills oral & written, including the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse constituent group required. Ability to successfully manage highly complex projects & new initiatives not previously performed at the University of Pennsylvania required. Experience creating a marketing strategy via multiple channels i.e. print, digital, swag materials for different business units. Collaborative approach i.e. working independently while engaging resources across multiple work functions to help achieve goals required. Ability to multi-task and function in situations with changing priorities required. Experience with a content management software i.e. Joomla, email marketing software i.e. Constant Contact, Social Media platforms, i.e. Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram preferred. Writing and updating HTML experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience required. Familiarity with service provision in a University environment is desired. Requires availability & willingness to work occasionally on the weekends or in the evening in support of key RHS activities.
