Position Summary:
Small Business Development Center. Reporting to the Director of Business Research and Economic Development, the Director of the Small Business Development Center delivers programs to individuals, businesses, communities, organizations, and other public agencies in the assigned geographic territory.

Essential Functions

  • Provides high quality individual instruction to entrepreneurs, business owners, and business managers analyzing situations, making recommendations, and educating clients.
  • Determines topics, agendas, instructors, instructional materials, location, time, and other resources required to create and produce instructional materials.
  • Serves as an instructor of business training programs, and secures qualified
    outside instructors to effectively market business training programs within assigned communities, so as to meet annual deliverables.
  • Develops specific area(s) of expertise within the arena of business development and applies this knowledge through new training programs, consulting tools, research
    projects, and/or other impact measures.
  • Works collaboratively with private-sector businesses, other economic development assistance units of the University System, and other units of State Government to further the economic well-being of Georgia's citizens.
  • Engages in public relations activities such as, speeches, presentations, active
    committee participation, and direct discussions.
  • Assists in the continued development, implementation, and updating of the
    organization's strategic plan to ensure that organizational goals and objectives are
    accomplished in a timely and thorough manner.

    Master’s Degree

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Salary Range: $54,515 - $68,128
