If you answered “yes” to these questions, then you are the ideal candidate for a position in the Reporting & Analytics team at the School of Medicine as an Organizational Insight Analyst (OIA). The OIA is part of a highly collaborative team of professionals who are responsible for the production of institutional reports, responding to data/report requests, and the creation of interactive dashboards and electronic reports. (S)he will also interact with users of analytical information and other stakeholders throughout the School of Medicine to identify the most meaningful and cogent information that will meet their business and strategic needs.

This role is a critical component for all of the core activities of the team, and reports directly to the Associate Director for Reporting & Analytics. The position will support, and is funded by, the NIH's Clinical and Translational Awards (CTSA) Program, which is designed to promote the efficient transformation of scientific discoveries into clinical advances.


  • Support the team's core functions as an individual contributor and also as a collaborator.
  • Maintain high levels of data quality in all of Reporting & Analytics' reports and deliverables.
  • Explore data from multiple angles, determine meaning behind the data, and recommend ways to apply the data.
  • Answer business questions by developing research methodology, gathering data and/or using appropriate statistical techniques on available data.
* - Other duties may also be assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor degree in a relevant technical field and four years' extensive experience or combination of education and relevant technical field experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.

  • Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from varying sources.
  • Demonstrated experience querying, processing, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets.
  • Experience in, and strong passion for, empirical research and answering hard questions with data.
  • Flexible analytical approach allowing for results at varying levels of precision.
  • Familiarity and experience with intermediate statistical methods and tools such as SPSS, SAS, R or similar tools.
  • Experience in all phases of research conducted at an academic institution is preferred.


  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 10 pounds or less.
  • Occasionally write by hand, twist, bend, stoop and squat.
  • Rarely stand, walk, reach or work above shoulders and use a telephone.
