Associate Director of Programming - CUNY Startups

CUNY Startups (CS) has been established as a university-wide initiative to assist students in starting their own businesses, creating jobs and stimulating small business growth in the City of New York. To do so, CUNY Startups runs an incubator/accelerator along with multiple hackathons and entrepreneurship competitions.

In partnership with the faculty and staff from the Field Programs at Baruch College, CUNY Startups will have as its primary objectives:
- Operate a business incubator/accelerator solely dedicated to students which will provide student entrepreneurs with a full range of mentoring services, office space and equipment, information technology, and working capital.
- Assist CUNY colleges in creating entrepreneurial programs, supporting existing programs and establishing their own campus centers for student entrepreneurship.
- Establish and work with a national network of angel investors, venture capitalists and other financial services organizations to invest in CUNY student businesses, support CUNY Startups operations and provide mentoring services to the student entrepreneurs.

This position reports to the Director, CUNY Startups and is responsible for ensuring seamless program delivery, quality control and evaluation. The focus of this role is defining and improving programming and operations of the Startup Accelerator and competitions. This includes demonstrating the overall value that CS can offer participants.

Duties include:
- Development and implementation of the CS Accelerator programming through the following initiatives:
* Curriculum development (workshops/events)
* Curriculum delivery (workshops/event)
* Outreach and recruitment of cohort members
* Data collection and reporting of milestones and impact
* Build and maintain relationships with student cohorts
* Assess program delivery and customize resources based on cohort needs
* Outreach to and management of mentor community
- Recruit, manage and supervise interns.
- Participate in strategy and development of CUNY student competitions.
- Consult with and support other CUNY staff with their campus entrepreneurial initiatives.
- In conjunction with the Director, develop funding proposals and build partnerships and sponsorships.

Compensation and Benefits:                                                   
$61,394 - $97,628; salary commensurate with education and experience.

- Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required
- MBA or Entrepreneurship masters preferred; minimum of six years' work experience
- Experience as an entrepreneur or employee of a startup firm or working with student entrepreneurs is a major plus for this position
- Demonstrated knowledge of early stage development, the Lean Startup methodology and Agile development
- Experience in program development and operations preferred
- Experience in recruitment and management of interns and volunteers desired
- Extensive relevant work experience that can be drawn upon in advising and mentoring
