End User Computing Specialist II

Provides accurate, timely, and sustainable solutions to end user computer and networking problems of a basic to moderate nature to ensure end user productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job functions are specific duties that would be included in the essential functions of the job description.  These functions are not all-inclusive nor do they cover the full extent of the duties performed.

Configures, installs, monitors and maintains IT users' desktop software, hardware, mobile computing devices, printers and other peripheral devices

Provides consultation to IT users for all aspects of end-users computing and desktop-based LAN systems software.

Assist users with resolving software issues pertaining to supported software

Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex software and device issues.

Provides preventative actions recommendation for network issues.

Serve as technical resource for users.

Assure that classroom technology equipment is operation at all times.

Repair Routine problems with classroom electronic equipment or coordinate repairs/updates

Perform and test initial hardware and software setup and upgrade for classroom electronic equipment

Maintain supplies, parts and equipment inventory

Maintain asset management workflow to ensure all equipment has FPU decals

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP/7/8, Apple Mac OS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer) and Firefox;

Competitive candidates will have a proven record of accomplishment, working well with end users of all skill levels, and working collaboratively and productively with other team members on several assignments concurrently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school degree and four years of appropriate experience; appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Experience in higher education supporting students, staff, faculty, classrooms and lab.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate's degree and two years of appropriate experience; knowledge of Apple Mac OS.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • This position requires a criminal background check.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.   Occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.

TARGET HIRING SALARY:  $19.40 - $22.67, commensurate with experience.
