The Department of Chemistry at Colgate University invites applications for one or more one-year Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning in the fall semester of 2018. The positions are intended for a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, or biochemistry. The completion of the Ph.D. is expected prior to the date of hire. The teaching responsibilities will include contributions to the introductory level chemistry curriculum, upper level courses within the visitor’s sub-discipline, and potentially general education courses in the university’s liberal arts CORE curriculum. Visitors will have the opportunity, if desired, to conduct research and aid in the supervision of undergraduate research students. They will also gain professional development through mentoring in teaching and conducting research at an undergraduate institution.
