The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Florida A&M University - Florida State University College of Engineering is pleased to invite applications for a non-tenure track, full-time faculty position.
Major responsibilities for this position are those associated with teaching our undergraduate laboratory courses in biomedical engineering, including molecular and cellular engineering, biomechanics, and instrumentation. The candidate may also be expected to assist in developing and teaching senior biomedical engineering design courses that would involve all aspects of the design process for a new product/device.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering field. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, primarily though not exclusively, at the undergraduate level, service to the department and campus, and outreach activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students are essential.

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering was established as a joint program of The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (a pre-eminent HBCU and Land Grant University) and The Florida State University (one of the nation’s ~100 Highest Research Activity Universities). The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering offers ABET accredited Bachelor of Science (B.S.) programs in chemical, civil, computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs. The Department currently has 18 full-time faculty members as well as joint appointment and adjunct faculty. Currently, the Department has over 550 undergraduates and about 50 graduate students.
