Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master's degree required. Business/Management Administration and/or Social or Behavioral Sciences areas preferred. Applicants with PhD and relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least six years of relevant professional experience is required, including three or more years of managerial experience with specific experience in research or program administration. Prior experience in planning, implementing, and managing programs is required, with clinical research management experience strongly preferred. Requires superior level of microcomputer literacy, with biostatistical experience desirable. Prior experience with tobacco control and/or cessation programs desirable. Experience editing, writing, and reviewing technical and/or scientific reports, papers, manuscripts and research contracts desirable.

Under the direction of the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (UW-CTRI) Director, Dr. Michael Fiore, this position serves as the UW-CTRI Director of Research Administration (DRA). The DRA has the lead responsibility for organizing internal systems to support the mission and work of UW-CTRI. The DRA works to support development, submission and management process of grants. The role includes insuring that UW-CTRI has a productive relationship with funding agencies, collaborators and other organizations concerned about tobacco cessation. The DRA also provides organization development services and oversees human resource support for all UW-CTRI programs, and is engaged in organizing and promoting strategic planning for the Center and encouraging the use of objective evaluation of programs. The DRA also oversees the operation of the central UW-CTRI office.
