Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in business, biological science, social sciences, communications, or related field is required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience is required .

Candidate with experience in an academic setting who has demonstrated professional growth is preferred.
Strong background in accounting practices preferred.
Experience with direct staff supervision, accounting, fiscal oversight with complex budgets preferred
Experience working with multiple grant programs including federal, university, and foundations.
More than three years of demonstrated research grants administration in higher education setting is preferred.
Knowledge of National Institutes of Health and other federal and private research preferred. Experience in grant budget development and management highly desired.
Experience supervising others preferred.
Experience or understanding of outreach and community engagement grant programs preferred.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Program Specialist, under the direction of the director of the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute (WAI), is primarily responsible for the administrative oversight of the research, clinical, health equity, and public health missions.
