Department Overview
The College of Visual Arts and Design Information Technology Services (CVADIT) supports the students, faculty and staff within the college. This includes maintaining the Student Computer Lab, Digital Fabrication Lab, three general computer classrooms and multiple program and research labs.

Job Description
The College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Cross Funct IT Support Specialist to join our IT Services team (CVADIT). Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Provide one-on-one information technology support for faculty research that involves\requires specialized technology (hardware and software). Faculty research interests in CVAD vary greatly and the candidate must be able to research in order to support and troubleshoot solutions and equipment where there is little external support.
* Secondary responsibilities will revolve around the helpdesk, providing support to students and instructors.
* New equipment deployments (desktops/laptops/peripherals /miscellaneous), software installs, equipment checkout, account maintenance, support and documentation.
* Perform special projects and tasks as needed.
* Producing departmental reports and researching new or existing IT solutions.
* May be required to perform on-call tasks with approval of the Senior IT Manager.
* Support to the UNT campuses outside of Denton (Frisco, Dallas) in some cases and may include, though infrequent, work on nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Associate's Degree in related field and three years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.
* Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment.
* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
* Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Familiarity with both Mac and Windows platforms.
