Advertised Job Summary
This positions is responsible for providing appropriate husbandry,care and cleaning, for animals with a focus on the health and welfare.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma; prefer training and/or experience in animal care.Preferred Qualifications
Prefer coursework in the Purina Lab Animal Course. Prefer AALAS Certification.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to handle and restrain a variety of animals. Requires considerable knowledge of environmental and nutritional requirements for laboratory animals, must possess ability to successfully complete certification requirements. Prefer some experience working with laboratory animals. A working knowledge of common symptoms of disease in laboratory animals preferred. Ability to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
