Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Responsible for designated professional duties in the preparation of state retirement records associated with payroll disbursements. This includes maintaining accurate quarterly files required to be submitted to PEBA, including the remittances and refunds pertaining to all SCRS and PORS employee and employer contributions, as well as ORP employer contributions due to PEBA. Responsible for Optional Retirement Plan vendor remittances and refunds, and other vendor remittances and refunds. Additional responsibilities include managing the workflow of all distribution requests associated with State Retirement plans, and processing hand checks as needed and other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 2 years professional accounting experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Oracle's PeopleSoft HCM application. Experience with PEBA reporting highly desired. Knowledge of MicroSoft Office Excel and Word, Access, Database Management, PowerPoint, and experience with payroll accounting principles.


Employee should have working knowledge of payroll accounting, state and federal retirement regulations, and accounts payable in general. Employee should have the ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and analyze and interpret related data. Employee should have the ability to update systems and processes when new rules and regulations are introduced. Employee should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as well as ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
