Directly advises at least one Greek Governing Council. Assists governing councils and chapters to formulate policy and solve problems that affect their members and the University. Interprets a wide array of University policies and procedures for student leaders, council executive board members, chapter advisors, alumni, national organization officers, and parents.
Manages and supports educational programs related to leadership development, risk management, peer and group accountability, and values congruence programming through the development and evaluation of learning outcomes. Ensures programs work cohesively together to promote the mission and vision of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Oglesby Union and FSU. Programs include, but are not limited to, Greek Leadership Summit, new member programs, and emerging leaders course.
Coordinates meetings and trainings for key stakeholders such as chapter advisors, house directors, and house corporation advisors. Manages Greek Awards process and ceremony with the input of staff, students, and campus partners. Communicates with all constituents related to this area. Serves are various committees throughout the University.
Supervises at least one graduate assistant.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position or a combination or post high school education and experience equal to six years.
Experience in solving problems, dealing with crises, and managing sensitive information.
Experience developing resources, services, and programs that support exploration of leadership development.
Experience working with a diverse population.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data and substantiating information, while considering and respecting others’ input, personal values, and ethics.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
A Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field and one year of full-time experience in higher education; or A Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Student Development, or a related field.
