The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Executive and Continuing Education. Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, The Citadel has been ranked for the seventh consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report as the top public college in the South among master's-granting institutions.  The position is a one-year renewable contract position.

The Assistant Director for Executive and Continuing Education provides daily operational support for non-credit bearing educational outreach opportunities at The Citadel. The Assistant Director collaborates with The Citadel’s five academic schools, departments, and student affairs units to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of customized training and continuing education initiatives. The position is responsible for delivering support processes of a one-stop office for course preparation and scheduling, coordination of facilities, instructor preparation and compensation, student registration, support services, and billing functions. Prepares weekly, semester, and annual enrollment and budget reports. Manages the continuing education information system.


The Assistant Director champions processes for identifying new and innovative outreach and customized training opportunities as well as other timely market-driven programs.  The Assistant Director will initiate and build partnerships with business and industry, military and government agencies, school districts, and other entities in order to serve the region and state. It is an expectation that the Assistant Director identifies financial resources and revenue that off-set expenses related to executive and continuing education activities.

 

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Must have at least three (3) years of experience in higher education or related field required. Demonstrated ability to think, plan and execute proactively and strategically.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Higher Education or a related field. Experience in admissions, enrollment management, or continuing and executive education. Experience in marketing and/or communication planning. Experience using a student information system and web-based software.
